What Goes into our Products?
The J Lord & Son ‘Take & Bake’ range uses only the finest ingredients in all stages of the production process. Once the filling is lovingly sealed in its pastry case, the pie is frozen and can be delivered almost anywhere!
We create the crisp, delicate pastry case using traditional hot water pastry made with top grade flour and good old fashioned lard.
We create the mouthwatering fillings to our cherished lord family recipes using only the finest beef and pork shoulder. These low fat cuts from local grazing herds in Yorkshire and Humberside provide the perfect main ingredient to our core range.
On the tailor-made side, anything goes! We’ve made pies with corned beef hash in them for a Victorian quality food pub in Manchester, haggis pies for a Scottish wedding and Steak & Ale pies for Marsden’s brewery using their famous Oyster beer. We’ve even made vegetarian pies!
