Well nearly, now Londoners can enjoy proper pork pie appreciation as we've gone and done a deal with a major pub group in London. They'll be selling our award winning pies in over 400 outlets in The Capital.

J Lord & Son (Take & Bake) wins National Award!
Traditional pork pie appreciation goes national as we take on 4800 other entrants and become one of only a handful of companies to win a coveted Guild of Fine Food 'Great Taste Awards' Gold Medal.
The final judging took place in August 2008 and we are proud to have won a prize in what is considered to be the 'Oscars of the food world'.

J Lord & Son Opens 'The Pie Shed'!
On Saturday May 17th, we officially opened our first permanent retail unit in Huddersfield Open Market.
The market is undergoing a huge renovation program which is heavily focused on food. The new look market will see the first release of purpose built food units along the Byram Street side of the building. There's also a wide open food piazza opening on the Northumberland Street side of the building, completed in August, 2008.
The long term plan for the market is to become a centre of excellence for local, high quality food and J Lord & Son Limited are leading the way with their range of 'Take & Bake' traditional Yorkshire pork pies.
Of course, it is not just about pork pie appreciation as we do other delicious fillings too! We look forward to welcoming you to the shed.

J Lord & Son Pies in Final of National Competition!
On Saturday 29th March at a blustery and rather moist Bridge Inn at Ripponden, the 16th Annual Pork Pie Club of Great Britain Competition took place and was hotly contested as usual by almost 50 entrants.
We made it to the final round of judging but narrowly missed out on a podium finish. the company are delighted to have attained a rosette however in this well respected national competition which this year hit new standards for the quality of entrants. The results summary can be seen on the Pork Pie Appreciation Society website here.
Away from the hot-house of the competition, Sales Director and chief pie man John Lord played host to a special marquee where he gave demonstations of artisan pie making skills throughout the day to raise money for the Pie Club charities. This even won us a well-earned spot in the limelight which you can see below....
J Lord & Son - Take & Bake Launches Salamander Pie!
We have teamed up with Bradford micro-brewery, Salamander to create a delicious steak & ale pie to be sold to pubs.
John, Jonny, Chris & Dan will be targetting pubs that sell their beer initially but anyone that is interested in selling the pies over their bar is welcome to talk to us.
The product was launched to landlords at the Royal Hotel, Great Horton Road on Tuesday 11th March, which was the first pub in Bradford to start stocking Slamander ales. The CAMRA pub coined as 'Bradford's best kept secret' always has Salamander on draught.
J Lord & Son are excited about prospects for the product, Sales Director John Lord said, 'as we know from selling our traditional pork pies into pubs already, the addition of a fresh baked, high quality bar top snack helps landlords keep client on the premises for longer meaning they spend a little more over the bar as well as buying the pie!'
